Џиниев коефициент е мерка на статистичката распределба кој најчесто се користи за мерење на нееднаквоста на распределбата на приходите или за мерење на нееднаквоста на распределбата на богатството. Вредноста на коефициентот е дефинирана во распон од 0 до 1, при што ниска вредност индицира подеднаква распределба на приходите или богатството, а висока вредност (на пр. 1) одговара на целосна нееднаквост (кајшто едно лице го поседува целиот приход, а сите други немаат приходи). Во светски рамки, Џиниевиот коефициент се движи од 0,232 во Данска до 0,707 во Намибија. Наречен е по италијанскиот статистичар Корадо Џини, кој го осмилил и изложил во неговото дело „Разновидност и променливост“ (Variabilità e mutabilità) објавено во 1912 г.^[1]

Џиниевиот коефициент е процентуална репрезентација на коефициентот, т.е. коефициентот помножен со 100: така во Данска коефициентот би изнесувал 23,2%, а во Намибија 70,7%. Понекогаш знакот за процент се изоставува при прикажувањето на Џиниевиот коефициент, затоа е важно да се знае дека тој може да се движи од 0 до 100, за разлика од коефициентот кој се движи од 0 до 1.

Коефициентот Џини вообичаено се користи и како мерка за дискриминаторската моќ на системите за управување со кредитниот ризик.
