WWE

WWE should remain in the article's title, in my opinion anyway... PeterMan844 (talk) 00:46, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Name of Titles

As I have posted this on the Tag title page it should be here as well. According to [this] poll on WWE.com it's Smackdown Tag Team Champions and Smackdown Women's Champion. This is just like the WHC, no WWE in the name.Chris "WarMachineWildThing" (talk) 18:45, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed this morning when Alexa Bliss won the match, the title was referred to as the SmackDown Live Women's Championship for some reason.PeterMan844 (talk) 07:41, 22 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

For "some reason"?! The show is called SmackDown Live, and is exclusive to that brand. It's always been called that. Also, "WWE" has no place in the title, as because of its brand exclusivity to female competitors on the SDL brand, it is not recognized as a world championship by WWE.ADg2k14 (talk) 19:53, 22 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship

Same as WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship - Someone messing with names.

WWE SmackDown Women's Championship (AKA WWE)SmackDown Women's Championship – See below Mclovin'tosh (talk) 17:15, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Waiting for WP:CONSENSUS

The name should be moved to "SmackDown Women's Championship", no WWE initials, same with "SmackDown Tag Team Championship". NXT Tag Team Championship was never called WWE NXT Tag Team Championship, despite the fact that NXT is owned by the WWE. Former titles such as the World Heavyweight Championship and World Tag Team Championship bear no initials on their official names. ~mcLovin'tosh (talk) 09:22, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

SUPPORT per [this] poll on WWE.com that I posted here before. Neither title has WWE in the name just like the World Heavyweight Championship didnt either Chris "WarMachineWildThing" Talk to me 14:17, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Support (albeit weakly) for the same reasons I supported the move on Talk:WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship.LM2000 (talk) 03:09, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

OPPOSE Although that poll left out "WWE", this does not. In regards to NXT championships, that's to differentiate that they aren't main show/roster championships. --JDC808 20:29, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Comment just like the tag titles this article on WWE.com removed the WWE to just Smackdown Women's Championship, I don't think they even know the names at this point. Chris "WarMachineWildThing" Talk to me 21:11, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Comment I believe this link only has the "WWE" initials on it, other than that, well I can't find one. Most of the WWE.com articles only refer to it as the SmackDown Women's Championship. Just sayin. DroneDrop (talk) 15:21, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Support The title is referred to without "WWE" on programming. Speedy Question Mark (talk) 21:07, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

OPPOSE Other titles have "WWE" included in the name. It just creates confusion. Similarly, TNA calls its belts TNA Tag Team Championship, etc.PeterMan844 (talk) 00:38, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No other promotion has a SmackDown's Women's Championship so there shouldn't be any confusion. It's like the NXT Championship, and far less confusing than World Heavyweight Championship (WWE) and World Tag Team Championship (WWE) were.LM2000 (talk) 02:15, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: On WWE.com, "WWE" is left off of the United States and Intercontinental championships articles. Are we suggesting to also remove "WWE" from those articles' titles? "WWE" is also left off of the original Women's Championship on their website, yet we include "WWE" for that article here as well. --JDC808 05:25, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Comment I believe there's no need to change article titles with regard to the WWE IC and WWE US Championships since those two are established titles unlike these new ones. Take for example, the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. The website officially refer to it simply as "WCW World Championship", yet the wiki article title retains its original name which is the "WCW World Heavyweight Championship". This applies to WWE Hardcore Championship and WWE European Championship as well. WWE.com leaves the "WWE" on both titles, but it is safe to add the initials since they were established titles already. Well that's only my opinion though. User:Mclovin'tosh (talk) 08:33, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

OPPOSE as per PeterMan844. Also, this is one more instance of a compulsion to quickly change things (and mess them up in the process). All these titles are WWE titles and if we keep the promotion's name for one we will have to keep them for all. Str1977 (talk) 17:26, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose, it's fine the way it is. You don't need to drop the WWE from it. It's still WWE SmackDown. (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 04:54, 7 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose After thinking about this WWE should be in the Articles title, I can no longer support the move. I have struck my previous support. Chris "WarMachineWildThing" Talk to me 05:15, 7 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Comment, after Raw changed the WWE Women's Championship to "Raw Women's Championship", I am also thinking about opposing the move. I am about to convince myself that it's probably just fine the way it is for now. User:Mclovin'tosh (talk) 14:25, 7 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Comment, Davide King's solution works best I believe. --JDC808 15:30, 7 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Naomi having the first customised women's title.

Hi @WarMachineWildThing:, I was just wondering what you meant regarding your edit summary regarding the Smackdown Women's Title, "Unsourced as Moolah never held this title". For reference, Moolah can be seen wearing the customised belt on her official WWE profile. Regards. 92.30.113.110 (talk) 20:53, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Moolah did not hold the SmackDown Women's title. Moolahs title is not part of this titles lineage. It's pretty self explanatory. Chris "WarMachineWildThing" Talk to me 20:58, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nobody is saying she did, the text reads "making her the first female superstar to receive a customized title for a women's championship", it doesn't specify this title in-particular, which would be foolish anyway given Naomi was only carrying the title in its fifth reign when it was customised. In this article on the WWE website, the writer discusses the custom title in more detail, including how the title was inscribed with the date she won the title and custom jewels. 92.30.113.110 (talk) 21:04, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Current Champion

Current champion is Bayley because Asuka won in Clash of champions by DQ. Kzagiel (talk) 19:15, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Women's World Championship (WWE)

Shouldn't the title of this article be "Women's World Championship (WWE)"? Speedy Question Mark (talk) 00:25, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

We need wait until WWE Update the name on WWE.com to see the name and Title History. LinceOscuroPR (talk) 00:50, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well they literally changed the titles name on the website right after your response. Speedy Question Mark (talk) 03:55, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
