Matt Bowen

Cleanup attempt

Attempting to clear up some sections for irrelevancy/NPOV purposes. Feel free to override Blackjack4124 12:24, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV

MATTY BOWEN IS THE HOTTEST EVA!!!!

"However, Bowen was always told he was too small, and coaches felt he was too light-weight to play in the major leagues, so he decided to take out his agrression on the bigger man by using an Allen Iverson like cross-over move in rubgy league known as a side-step that only few can master in a fast professional game." - Seems to lack any semblance of encyclopedia nature. The first sentence has merit, if someone can work it into an unbiased sentence or two.

Other entire sections are HEAVILY wanting for a NPOV. Whilst I like watching Matty in full flight as much as anyone, this is a biographical article, not a fan page. Find the facts in the article, and prise them from opinions. Consider it a work-in-progress Blackjack4124 12:31, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think Matthew Bowen is considered one of the most exciting and deadly attacking players in rugby league is probably the only thing close to a non-NPOV in this article and after your cleanup I don't think that we have to change anything else, it's a bit like saying that the Rabbitohs are one of the weakest NRL sides around of late, although it may not come across as a NPOV, it is indeed a fact. The above statement even allows some NPOV putting the word considered in. Unless you can provide some type of rebuttal in the next 24 hours or so, I will remove the tag on the article. I've posted this in both WikiProject and the discussion page as well as Blackjack's talk page which seems oddly empty for someone who seems to have a good knowledge of Wikipedia already ;-) --JRA WestyQld2 10:59, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to. (Just haven't got around to making a talk page... new member and all)

I'll try my hand at that passage too, seems to have a little 'waffle'. I just can't figure the need to mention A.I there... at least not without Wiki-linking him. Could be simply 'by mastering the cross-over move known as a sidestep to a level matched by few in the game.' (The key fact is he 'uses the sidestep, and uses it well'. (I'll fix up rubgy to rugby while I'm at it.) Blackjack4124 12:09, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Test Match Status

The article says the game he played against France wasn't recognised as an official test. However I remember hearing that following the completion of his game, it was given test match status. Can anyone confirm this? Samatic 15:31, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the match was a Test and I have added a source to confirm it. --Mkativerata (talk) 22:16, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Matthew bowen passing.jpg

Image:Matthew bowen passing.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:35, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
