The Houthi tribe (Arabic: قبيلة الحوثي) is a Hamdanid Arab tribe that centralizes in northern Yemen. The tribe is branched from Banu Hamdan tribe.[1][2] They are primarily headquartered in both 'Amran and Saada.[3] The Houthi movement is named after the Houthi tribe. Harith al-Hamdani, one of Ali's first supporters, was from the Houthi tribe.[4][5][6][7]
