The Houthi tribe (Arabic : قبيلة الحوثي ) is a Hamdanid Arab tribe that centralizes in northern Yemen . The tribe is branched from Banu Hamdan tribe.[ 1] [ 2] They are primarily headquartered in both 'Amran and Saada .[ 3] The Houthi movement is named after the Houthi tribe. Harith al-Hamdani , one of Ali 's first supporters, was from the Houthi tribe.[ 4] [ 5] [ 6] [ 7]
