English: This photograph was taken of the side of the courthouse that faces west at 3:46 PM Central Daylight Time (CDT). This side of the courthouse would be the "front" side of the courthouse. The courthouse is located in the middle of Benton Public Square. This was the first day the new courthouse was open to the general public. The courthouse received a dedication ceremony earlier in the day. The courthouse used by Franklin County has traditionally been an icon for both Benton, Illinois, and Franklin County, Illinois. |
