Diber Armando Cambindo Abonia (born 17 February 1996) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a striker. Before playing in Mexico, Cambindo played for several clubs throughout Colombia, and has also received a call up to the Colombia national team.
Having started his career in Chile, Cambindo had spells throughout the Categoría Primera A, and had his best years at Independiente Medellin, where he was a crucial player in helping El Poderoso reach the finals of the 2022 Torneo Finalizacion. His good performances got the attention of many clubs across South America and North America, and in June 2023, he signed for Cruz Azul for a reported USD$3.5 million.[2][3]
His arrival caused some controversy as it was revealed he was suffering from fitness issues, and was seen by some as not up to the standard of playing in the Liga MX or the Cruz Azul squad.[4]
Cambindo was called up to the Colombia national football team for their exhibition match against the United States on 28 January 2023. Cambindo made his debut as a second-half substitute in the 0–0 draw.[5]
