  • ... that in 1908, Island No. 2 was simultaneously deeded to two different people, and was the subject of "one of the most interesting documents ever placed on record in Napa County"? Source: "She Needs Money: Mrs. Marie E. Hanbury Mortgages Island No. 2 to Bank of Napa". Napa Weekly Journal. Napa, California. 1909-01-01. p. 1.

  • @JPxG: Article is new enough, long enough (i removed its stub classification), plagiarism-free, sourced, and neutral. I'd trim the hook to just the first clause—a quote indirectly saying your hook is interesting is just a little tacky. It is interesting and cited, though. By the way, if this hiram johnson is the same as future california governor Hiram Johnson, I'd link that in the article, that's interesting. QPQ has been done, this is good to go once we work out the hook. Super interesting stuff! theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (they/them) 23:02, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I'll be reviewing this article. My goal is to knock it out today. --Cerebellum (talk) 12:12, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This was a fun article to review :) I'm amazed how gossipy the Napa Weekly Journal was! Pass, two minor suggestions for improvement below. --Cerebellum (talk) 16:26, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Criteria

  • Prose: Article is well written and complies with the MOS.
  • References: Article is thoroughly referenced to high-quality sources. Great use of old newspapers to tell a fun story! I was concerned about the citations to maps in the last paragraph, I thought it might be OR. But after reading WP:MAPCITE I am convinced by the argument that describing what a map shows is not OR. I recommend removing ref #2 from the lead, it's not necessary and doesn't really support the first sentence since it doesn't say the island is submerged, and on the map it's labeled "NRU Pond 2".
  • Coverage: Good, I recommend mentioning in the Geography section the size of the island.
  • Neutral: Yes.
  • Stable: Yes.
  • Illustrated: Yes, images are correctly licensed and captioned. --Cerebellum (talk) 16:26, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
