French bassoon
I think we should do as the French do, and treat the "basson" and the "fagotto" as different instruments with different ranges and timbres. Any violinist that can play period music can play it on a modern instrument. I think this also ties into the article about the instruments' high ranges. 2603:7000:D03A:5895:61C9:CE16:5785:DDE0 (talk) 23:25, 20 February 2024 (UTC)

- I reverted your addition before realizing it was part of an assignment, so I'll explain more about the problems here. First and most importantly, if you wish to add content anywhere on Wikipedia you need to include citations to reliable sources that were used. This is one of the core tenets of Wikipedia and I would have expected that to be explained as part of any Wikipeda assignment. Also, this paragraph that provides a simple summary of various facts about the instrument wouldn't belong in the middle of a section providing quite specific information. The only place it could even potentially belong is as an introduction, but we already have an adequate intro paragraph. My suggestion for moving forward on this would be to review your sources, find a few specific pieces of information that are not already present in the article, look for an appropriate place to insert them, and add them with your references clearly cited. Feel free to ask any further questions here, and good luck. -- Fyrael (talk) 17:42, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
