Elías Enrique Montiel Ávalos (born 7 October 2005) is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Liga MX club Pachuca.
Club career
Montiel joined the academy of Pachuca in 2019, and worked his way up all their youth categories. He made his senior and professional debut with Pachuca as a substitute in a Liga MX loss to León on 10 July 2023.[1] He won the Bronze Ball award at the 2024 FIFA Intercontinental Cup, where Pachuca lost to Real Madrid in the final on 18 December 2024.[2]
International career
In November 2023, Montiel was first called up to the Mexico U18s for a set of friendlies.[3] He was part of the Mexico U20 squad that won the 2024 CONCACAF U-20 Championship.[4]
