Assisting cGMP Expansion at PCAS
PCAS (Paris, France) a leader in fine and specialty chemicals selects STARLIMS for its Villeneuve-la-Garenne (VLG-CHEM) cGMP site operated in cooperation with Aventis In June 2004, PCAS acquired 85% of the VLG CHEM stock, Aventis keeping 15% of its ownership. This agreement has been concluded in accordance with the agenda announced last January and is part of the Aventis-PCAS cooperation. It will allow preserving activity and employment with an optimized utilization of both partners’ production capacities including those of the Villeneuve-la-Garenne plant. Aventis will continue to have certain products manufactured by VLG CHEM in the frame of long term industrial agreements and will transfer to VLG CHEM various toll manufacturing agreements concluded with third parties. In addition PCAS plans to transfer to Villeneuve-la-Garenne some strategical activities which will also contribute to the development of this site.
PCAS products include molecules and active ingredients designed to meet specific characteristics and performance criteria defined by or in partnership with customers. PCAS is supported by extensive R&D capabilities and flexible and polyvalent production facilities. STARLIMS has been supporting PCAS’ growth in cGMP manufacturing since 1992 when it was implemented at PCAS production sites in Limay (PCAS-SELOC). In 2003 PCAS expanded the STARLIMS implementation to support its second site located in Aramon (Expanisa) will now be implemented at VLG-CHEM. All three sites operate under cGMP standards in compliance with FDA requirements.
