The University of Wisconsin-Madison, “Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (WVDL) is using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) which has not been updated since 2006. Due to the age of the system, there are many attributes that are cumbersome and not intuitive. Additionally, various intermediate remedies have been implemented for work tracking, chemical database, cost accounting, and invoicing. Currently, the LIMS contains approximately 600,000 accessions (cases).

WVDL is seeking to procure a replacement software package or solution to improve laboratory efficiency and workflow practices regarding LIMS from a company with demonstrated experience. The minimum requirements of the new LIMS Solution include:
• Replacement of current features utilized in the existing LIMS Solution, including accessioning, resulting and reporting to clients
• Accounts receivable capabilities
• Replacing many of our testing section’s individual tracking Solutions. This would include:
      • Storage logs
      • Sample receipt/movement logs
      • Pathology requests forms
      • The inventory database
• Providing an intuitive and user-friendly interface, providing access to data in a streamlined manner, and preferably accessible from within a web browser
• Allowing end-users to query and export data, with multiple search criteria

WVDL requires a Solution to accommodate approximately 110 named end-users and approximately 2,500 active clients including approximately 7,000 referring veterinarians and 30,000 owners. In 2022, the WVDL performed approximately 610,000 tests.”
