The LIMSforum group has released the 2015 Edition of the Complete Guide to LIMS & Lab Informatics. The electronic and print versions of the book are available at http://www.limsbook.com The eBook version is free. You can also send it to your Kindle. This new 2015 edition has over 400 pages of information with tons of information on features and functions for LIMS and LIS and complete vendor directories for LIMS, LIS, ELN, SDMS and CDMS products. There are over 30 LIMS vendors with complete pricing information as well. This resource is compiled from our LIMSwiki.org site so you will want to check back often as we will be releasing subsequent editions as the community updates the information. Any vendors who wish to be listed can do so by submitting your information and price lists to the LIMSwiki.org editor. Do get your free copy at: http://www.limsbook.com We also have a completely new site for the LIMSbook. It has many other books you will be interested in and all of them are completely free and open access. We will be adding a facility soon to allow you to create, publish and share your books freely. 04/01/2015 - Freezerworks Unveils New Logo In Preparation for Upcoming Software Upgrade

On April 1, 2015, Dataworks Development, Inc.released a new logo design for its laboratory information management system in anticipation of the release of their latest product, Freezerworks 2015. This software upgrade will feature some significant and important changes, and the company says it wanted a new logo to symbolize this fresh start.

03/30/2015 - The Parasight System™ Introduces Revolutionary Mobile Medical App to Detect Parasites

MEP Equine Solutions today announced that they have received a $100,000 Small Business Innovation Research Phase I grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The grant, which targets animal production and protection, introduces technology to perform a simple on-site test to allow veterinarians and animal owners to diagnose the presence of parasites using smartphone technology. The Parasight System provides quantitative results in less than five minutes and emails imaged test results with egg count/ type and treatment recommendation to veterinarians and animal owners.

03/25/2015 - LIMS Survey Highlights Increased Customer Satisfaction Levels

A new customer survey published early in 2015 by Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) specialist, Autoscribe, has shown an across-the-board increase in customer satisfaction levels compared to a similar survey carried out in 2013. In addition response levels to the survey, which was conducted in both the USA and UK, was up nearly fourfold.

Tarrant County is requesting proposals from Vendors with experience in defining requirements and developing technical requests for proposals (RFPs) for Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Tarrant County expects to receive and evaluate responses from multiple vendors.

03/03/2015 - Request for Response - Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS3)

Provide a Laboratory Information Management System in the cloud (LIMS3) for Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. LIMS3 is intended to replace an existing, internally hosted LIMS software system; and to provide a more accessible and configurable LIMS application that will meet EEA’s needs moving forward.
