09/10/2014 - SLAS Launches Member Video Series

The Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) recently introduced a video series featuring Society members sharing their opinions about SLAS and how the organization has helped their careers. Thirteen SLAS members participated in the series, including professional researchers, engineers and scientists from AstraZeneca, Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research, Promega Corporation and the University of California Los Angeles.

09/10/2014 - CSols, Inc. - 7th in the Top Workplaces of Delaware

CSols, Inc., a leader in the laboratory informatics (LIMS, ELN, etc.) consulting industry, was announced as one of the Top Workplaces in Delaware in the small business category on August 17th in the News Journal.

09/09/2014 - ACLA President Testifies in Opposition to FDA Intent to Regulate LDTs - Questions Statutory Authority, Cautions Against Duplicative Regulation that Could Stifle Innovation and Compromise Patient Access to Critical Diagnostic Tests

Testifying before the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health today, Alan Mertz, President of the American Clinical Laboratory Association (ACLA), expressed concern to lawmakers that additional, duplicative regulation imposed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on laboratory-developed tests (LDTs) would cause a harmful ripple effect throughout the laboratory industry that could hamper diagnostic discoveries and preclude patients from timely access to life saving treatments.

Laboratory automation involves the process, technology, device and software which enable automated workflow process in the laboratories and thus reduce manual steps and errors. Lab automation incorporates both hardware (devices) and software.

09/04/2014 - GenoLogics Enters Agreement with Illumina to Provide Laboratory Information System for HiSeq X Ten System

GenoLogics today announced it has been selected by Illumina as the preferred laboratory information management system (LIMS) provider to support HiSeq X Ten sequencing system customers.

09/02/2014 - PETra becomes a global success

LabLogic's PET LIMS system PETra is proving to be a global hit following successful installations in Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Singapore, the UK and the US.

08/13/2014 - Request for Demos - ACILT LIS

The Association of Public Health Laboratories is requesting interested LIMS providers to submit a demo of their LIMS to be provided to attendees at the 2nd Global LIS Course organized in Johannesburg from September 15 – 18, 2014. The LIS Course is co-presented by the African Center for Integrated Laboratory Training, the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In 2013, the first year the course was held, 18 countries participated, many of which are interested in implementing LIMS in their nations. Therefore an opportunity to view a LIMS demo at this forum is beneficial to both attendees and LIMS providers.
