Sysmed Solutions Ltd, formerly known as wwa.sysmed, has been chosen as the IT solutions provider to support Whitfield Street Laboratory Ltd (WSL) a new company set up to run the UKs largest, high volume, automated pathology laboratory. This ground breaking operation will provide the latest in laboratory facilities for a partnership between University College London Hospitals NHS Trust (UCLH) and The Doctors Laboratory Ltd (TDL).

11/3/03 - United States Environmental Protection Agency Selects Amersham Biosciences' CodeLink Custom Bioarrays for Gene Expression Profiling
October 23, 2003 The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has selected CodeLink Custom Bioarrays from Amersham Biosciences, the life sciences business of Amersham (LSE:, NYSE:, OSE: AHM), to perform gene expression experiments aimed at identifying biomarkers to assess aquatic toxicity.

11/3/03 - Applied Biosystems Introduces New System for Forensic Analysis at the CODIS Annual Meeting
Applied Biosystems Group (NYSE:ABI - News), an Applera Corporation business, today announced the introduction of two new kits for forensic testing and other human identification purposes that allow analysts to determine the amount of human DNA or male-specific DNA present in samples. Determination of the presence and amount of DNA in various types of evidentiary samples is an important first step prior to subsequent testing performed for forensic identification.

The return of EAS to Somerset in 2002 was a welcomed homecoming. We will remain in Somerset for 2003, and for the future. I was very pleased with the 2002 Symposium and Exposition. The exhibitors provided an outstanding venue for evaluating new instruments and acquiring technical product information and our technical sessions, short courses and workshops truly delivered on the promise of "providing practical solutions to our analytical chemistry problems." On a personal note, I was also very pleased with the opportunity of seeing old friends, colleagues and acquaintances and value the new friendships that were initiated. It was truly a homecoming!.
