Biomatters was founded in 2003[1] and released Geneious in 2005.[2]
In the fall of 2011, Biomatters opened its first offices in the United States "in response to growing customer demand."[3]
In the fall of 2018, the company announced it would be changing the name of its Geneious product to Geneious Prime.[2]
